How To Care For A Soft, Flowy T-Shirt

Posted on

If you own an ultra-soft, flowy t-shirt you'll want to keep it as comfortable as the first day you wore it. With proper care, not only will the shirt stay feeling good, it will continue to look good as well.

Many high-quality t-shirts are constructed of combed and ring-spun cotton for a luxurious feel against the skin, as well as durable polyester. This fabric blend will ensure that the shirt flows well and has an attractive fit without being too tight. The material may even have a smooth, suede-like feel that will remain after many wash and dry cycles if handled with care.

Men's super-soft, flowy t-shirts are versatile in that you can dress them down with a pair of denim jeans, shorts or corduroy pants, or pair them with dressier slacks for a business casual look. During the chilly fall and winter months, you can also top the t-shirts with a jacket or sweater for added warmth. Make sure that the shirt you purchase is pre-shrunk to ensure the best fit.

No matter how you choose to wear a luxury shirt, here are some helpful care tips:

Remove Stains ASAP

If you spill food or drink on your t-shirt, remove the spot as soon as possible to avoid permanently damaging the fabric. This is especially important if it's red wine, ketchup, grease, or any other item that is known to stain.

Consider keeping a travel-size stain stick in your car, bag, or office so that you can treat the unsightly spot right away. The longer the spill sits on the fabric, the harder it will be to remove later. If you don't have a stain stick on hand, dab cold water onto the spot to remove as much as you can. Treat it with a stain remover as soon as you get home.

Wash on the Gentle Cycle

When it's time to wash the t-shirt, use your washing machine's gentle cycle. Follow the garment's care instructions, using cold water on dark colors and warm water on lighter hues. You can use a fabric softener as well if you desire.

Depending on what the care label says, either air-dry the shirt or place it in your dryer. Be sure not to overfill the dryer, which could cause the soft fabric to wrinkle. Hang the clean shirt on a padded hanger to avoid unattractive shoulder bumps. You can also fold it neatly and place it in a drawer.
